In this crazy stressed filled world it's easy to get off track. We busy ourselves with a million things, and oftentimes our own well-being is placed on the back burner. Suddenly we realize that we are out of shape - it could be that you are getting winded climbing a flight of stairs, or your cholesterol and blood sugar was off the charts at your last physical, or maybe you are suffering from some depression. Perhaps you simply have no energy and just want to sit on the couch and watch TV. Who has the desire to exercise when you are so tired?
If you can relate, let me assure you I have been in your shoes. I battled my weight my entire life, yo-you dieting and never seeming to have much success at keeping the weight off, despite my best efforts.
I finally realized that if I continued going down the path I was on, my health would be sorely compromised. I had a young daughter that I wanted to watch grow up. I knew that life had to be better than what it felt like at 250 pounds.
Fitness and well being now go hand in hand in my world. I was able to shed over 120 pounds and keep it off. Life has had its share of challenges, as I have many auto-immune disorders; colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and fibromyalgia have been the most daunting. I still move as best as I can & take care of myself by eating well, and I am still able to keep the weight off. I have completed 4 marathons and 7 half marathons in the past few years.
There is no reason you can't have the same success as I have had! All it takes is a commitment to YOURSELF that you want a better life, a life full of vitality, health and happiness.
